Grant proposals

A proposal must speak clearly and completely. The reader should immediately know how much funding you need and what it will be used for. After the summary letter or statement, comes the back-up. You must answer every question the reader and potential funder has about the project.

  • Who will be involved?
  • Who will benefit? What is exact demographic?
  • What is the expected outcome?
  • How will this help the local community and world at large?
  • What is the budget?
  • Who is on the board of directors?
  • Why would I give you money over the next proposal?
  • When will you report back on your results?

And you must be compelling! Why would the funder give your organization money over the next proposal in the stack? This is the moment to make your work stand-out. Use this opportunity wisely.
